Penza, 3 January 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza sports palace “Rubin” and the city’s general schools begin the tests under the stages 4 and 5 of the Russian physical culture training complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (abbreviated as GTO) starting from Thursday, January 14.

“Those who want to pass the norms will have to show their knowledge of theory, demonstrate their strength and speed in running, skiing, throwing, be accurate in shooting, do push-ups and pull-ups, and go on a hiking trail,” the Penza city committee on physical education, sports and youth policy told PenzaNews agency.

Those who pass the tests will receive bronze, silver and gold badges, they explained.

The municipal GTO testing center already received the necessary inventory and equipment to hold norm tests, the city’s sports committee added.
