Penza “Diesel” hockey players gift hockey sticks to Mokshan orphanage students

Penza, 6 January 2016. PenzaNews. Twelve players of the Penza hockey club “Diesel” and their coaches, Andrei Nikishov and Dmitry Vershinin, have gifted a set of hockey sticks, pucks and team merchandise to the students of the Mokshan orphanage for mentally challenged children.

They visited the institution on Tuesday, January 5, after a morning training session.

The orphanage director Victor Druzhinin showed the athletes the sports room for the children and told them of their advantages.

After that, the orphanage students welcomed the guests with a small concert.

The discussion continued in the sports hall, where the hockey players played volleyball and ping-pong with children, and concluded with a tea party and a photo session.

Victor Druzhinin thanked the “Diesel” team for their visit.

“Today is a wonderful day. Our favorite hockey team is visiting us. We are greatly honored,” he noted.

The orphanage director recalled how the players of “Diesel” presented the orphans with New Year gifts after the December 15 match with “Buran.”

In addition, Victor Druzhinin announced that the children plan to visit the next match with “Kristall” on January 10 to support their favorite team.

In turn, Andrei Nikishov, the team’s head coach, thanked them for the warm welcome and wished the children success in all their aspirations, says the press service of “Diesel.”
