Dmitry Kolgotin, Sergei Chistyakov, Alexander Delnov and Stanislav Kuchkin scored for “Diesel,” while Akhmed Gimbatov scored for “Bars.”
During the post-match press conference, the trainer of “Bars” Mikhail Sarmatin pointed out that “the opponent scored a worthy victory against us today.”
“Hockey is made of trifles: lost a scuffle here, missed a pass there, got too slow elsewhere. Just like that, we lacked this and that just by that much during this game. The scuffles, the speed, perhaps the polish somewhere. These are the things that make the final outcome,” he said.
In turn, Dmitry Vershinin, acting head coach of “Diesel,” stressed that earning the victory was not an easy task for the Penza hockey players.
“Perhaps we wanted to win more today. The game was tough. A really important victory for us. The guys were playing selflessly. The opponents caused us a lot of trouble. Perhaps we got more lucky today,” the press service of “Diesel” quotes Dmitry Vershinin.
After 43 matches, the Penza club holds the 21st place in the Supreme Hockey League tournament with 45 points.
The next away game for “Diesel” will take place in Sarov versus the local team on Thursday, February 4.
