Penza to hold judo kata Russian championship, competition for first time

Penza, 16 February 2016. PenzaNews. Penza will be hosting the countrywide judo kata championship and competition in “Voeykov” martial arts palace. This will be the first time the city is hosting such event.

The judo kata competition that is scheduled on Thursday, February 18, will bring together junior boys and girls born in 1999-2001.
The Penza region will be represented by Roman Kulygin and Nikita Yegorkin, both winners of the Penza region judo competition for athletes under 18.
The judo kata championship, taking place on February 20-21, will be bringing together the athletes born in 1998 and earlier.
Natalya Samoylova, Elena Yegorova, Maria Strazhina, Victoria Peshkova and Pavel Yezhkov will be representing the Penza region in the event.
Overall, nearly 70 sportsmen from Moscow, Sergiev Posad, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Omsk, Tyumen, Penza, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan will be competing for the victory, says the press service of the regional Sports Ministry.
