The game took place in the lesser rink of “Diesel-Arena” sports and entertainment complex on Saturday, March 5, and came to a conclusion in overtime with the final score of 1:0.

The opposing teams ended up being unable to best each other during the main time, in spite of numerous attempts at the opponents’ goal. Both played cautiously, tending to defense and trying not to make any mistakes, with intense struggle almost everywhere in the rink. The emotions spilling over caused several brief clashes between the players.

The home team began the overtime period, which proved to be fruitful in the end. After a large-scale offensive, Nail Kanteev, assisted by Maxim Chigirev, ended the match by making an accurate long shot for the goal on the 67th minute of the match.

The play-offs are always described by their characteristic scoring pattern, the tension and the attitude by the hockey players, noted the “Dizelist” head coach Alexei Vaulin.

“It’s a war of attitudes. The teams are charged to the brim to get results. I think today’s match had everyone on the edge of their seats. A big thank you to our fans who gave us immense support from the stand. We made a small step, will be working onward,” the trainer stressed.

The Penza team will hold their second home match versus “Zelenograd” on Sunday, March 6.

Following that, the series will transition to Moscow, with the next upcoming match on Wednesday, March 9, says the “Dizelist” press service.
