Penza, 7 March 2016. PenzaNews. Dmitry Shlyakhtin, president of the All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF), instructed the ARAF violations investigation committee to analyze all doping allegations against trainers Vladimir Mokhnev and Yuri Gordeev that are featured in the TV documentary by Hajo Zeppelt recently broadcast by the German channel.
According to the film, Vladimir Mokhnev, now suspended, allegedly continues coaching “in training camp in Gubkin right now, and in Kursk otherwise,” while Yuri Gordeev, who, according to the film, works in Penza, is shipping illegal substances for athletes.
“ARAF is attentive to all signals related to anti-doping rule violations, and will hold a further investigation after the release of the new movie by ARD channel about violations in Russian athletics,” says the ARAF press release.
The Federation is fighting without compromises against doping, it adds.
“[ARAF] has done a lot of work for the return of our athletes on the international scene, we are open to a serious strategic partnership with the IAAF [International Association of Athletics Federations] and WADA [World Anti-Doping Agency] and will not allow individuals to cast a shadow on the Russian athletics,” the press release stresses.
