Penza, 17 March 2016. PenzaNews. The Russian countrywide gymnastics championship and competition is scheduled to take place at the “Burtasy” sports palace.

The senior and junior competitions will be taking place on March 30 – April 3 for men, and on April 6-10 for women.

“It is hard to overestimate the importance of these competitions during the year of the Olympics. They will determine who the trainers will include in the teams for the European championship and competition in Berne (May 25-29 for men and June 1-5 for women), as well as the final list of names for the Olympic national team,” the Penza gymnastics school commented for PenzaNews.

The list of Penza region athletes that will be taking part in the Russian championship includes Denis Ablyazin, Pavel Pavlov, Sergei Stepanov, Dmitry Kharkov, Artem Arnaut, Ildar Yuskaev, Alexei Kanesev, Daniil Kazachkov, Nikita Simonov, Ivan Tikhonov and Natalya Kapitonova.

At the same time, the Penza athletes to take part in the Russian countrywide competition are Alexander Glukhov, Oleg Stupkin, Vadim Khablov, Pavel Lukashov, Sergei Snetkov, and Elizaveta Volodina.

Overall, the events will bring to Penza nearly 340 athletes from all Russian regions, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg, among them such famous sportsmen as Alia Mustafina, Victoria Komova, Darya Spiridonova, Ksenia Afanasyeva, Maria Paseka, Nikita Nagorny, David Belyavsky, Nikolai Kuksenkov, Nikita Ignatyev, Maria Kharenkova, Seda Tutkhalyan, and Ivan Stretovich.

Moreover, Emin Garibov, European championship in horizontal bar routine, will appear at a countrywide championship for the first time after his treatment of a dislodged shoulder.

As all athletes will be competing with each other for a ticket to the Olympic Games, the competition promises to be a great entertainment.
