“I think we did very well this season, in spite of us dropping out of the play-offs at the quarterfinals,” the trainer commented for PenzaNews after a loss versus “Rossosh.”
According to him, the players were set for win, but “what happened, happened.”
“The opponent struck the necessary goals against us. […] The third and the fourth goals, when we missed two attacks at once with one and two players out due to penalties. But we fought to the end, we struggled to bridge the gap,” stressed the head coach of the youth team.
Also, Alexei Vaulin added that “Rossosh” is “a good and powerful opponent.”
“There is a reason why they were the champions during the previous season. This time, they finished the regular championship on the first place. We had good games, with a possibility to clutch onto something. We had a big opportunity – we lost two games by the shootouts while in Rossosh, which means we played toe to toe, our guys gave no ground whatsoever. We just couldn’t make successful attacks – we did bad in exploiting the moments,” the trainer pointed out.
