Over 150 people take part in kettlebell lifting contest at OMON Special Police Force base

Penza, 26 March 2016. PenzaNews. Over 150 athletes representing various departments of the police and other government structures – EMERCOM, FSB and the Federal Penitentiary Service – have taken part in the kettlebell lifting contest held as a part of the regional Ministry of the Interior spartakiad at the OMON (Special Police Force) base.

The athletes competed in double-event – jerk lifting and burst lifting for 24-kg dumbbells, says the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department.

The competitors were divided into six weight categories.

Representatives of the Penza region OMON took the lead in individual trials in five out of six categories, while the Ministry of the Interior emergency response team also showed good results.

The leaders of the team trials in the first group were OMON, SOBR and the Penza police station No. 4, while the best contestants in the second group were the non-departmental security forces, the Kuznetsk area police, and the Ministry of the Interior branch in the Neverkino area.
