The young athlete completed the course in 2 minutes 9.56 seconds.
At the same time, Anastasiya Osipenko took the second place with 2 minutes 15.67 seconds, followed by Anna Belousova with 2 minutes 16.28 seconds.
“I was preparing for completing two races on the same day. But what would be during the Olympics? It is likely I will have to choose one of the two. Two distances in a row is hard. […] I’m more inclined to do the mixed style race. But there is still enough time, we will be discussing it with the head coach, so everything still can change,” Victoria Andreeva said.
She said that her success during the national championship, among other things, could be contributed to her mother being among the people at the seats.
“I am also under constant care by my coach and support by my friends. Looks like that’s what helped me,” the sports news agency “Ves Sport” quotes Victoria Andreeva.
