Penza region to boost cooperation with Russian Football Union

Penza, 3 June 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region government, the Russian Football Union and the Penza region football federation agreed to improve cooperation during the meeting of the regional governor Ivan Belozertsev and the president of the “Privolzhye” football union Vladimir Afanasyev on Friday, May 3.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Penza football and the upcoming celebration of 100 years of Penza football in 2018.
According to Ivan Belozertsev, the regional football will continue receiving support from local authorities.
“We must actively work in this direction, aid development of children and youth football, boost public popularity of the sport,” he said.
Also, the governor stressed the importance of involving children and teenagers in active sports and recreation.
“Every year, we pay particular attention to organizing active sports for children. They must be involved in sports, participate in competition, and make us happy with their victories,” Ivan Belozertsev added.
Moreover, in conclusion of the meeting, the governor expressed his belief that the joint work over the development of Penza football will be productive, and invited Vladimir Afanasyev to participate in the official opening of the “Children’s Sport” project summer games season at the school No. 77 stadium on Friday, June 3, says the press service of the regional government.
Right now, over 32,770 people are involved in the Penza region football under guidance of 91 full-time coaches. 22 areas of the region host 29 football clubs with 3,208 athletes and 75 coaches.
