Penza, 14 June 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region has opened its regional speed wireless telegraphy competitions and the two-discipline telegraphy bouts on Tuesday, June 14.

The competitions at the dedicated children and youth sports and technical wireless telegraphy school brought together both beginners and renown masters of the sport.

Beginner radio operators took the opportunity to compare their skill with that of the Russian national team, including champions and record-breakers, Svetlana Kalenova, director of the DOSAAF dedicated children and youth sports and technical school, told PenzaNews.

“The regional speed wireless telegraphy competition will discover the best in the discipline – they will join the Penza region in the Russian countrywide competitions which will be held, again, in Penza on June 24. These, in turn, will serve as a filter for the September international championship in Montenegro,” she explained.

At the moment, seven competitors from the Penza region strive to join the national team, she added.

“Moreover, we are also holding another regional competition, this one related to the upcoming Russian countrywide multidiscipline wireless telegraphy competitions. It will select the Penza region team that will be competing in St. Petersburg on August 8,” Svetlana Kalenova remarked.
