Young Penza residents cover distance of over 1 thousand km during bicycle tour
Penza, 15 July 2016. PenzaNews. A group of students of the regional station of young tourists led by the teacher Pavel Davydov covered the distance of over 1 thousand kilometers during the 12-day bicycle tour “Penza – Ruzaevka – Arzamas – Chkalovsk – Nizhny Novgorod – Saransk.”

The teenagers mastered their bicycle skills along the route, as well as skills on bicycle maintenance on the road and the ability of organize tourist life at rest stops.
There was created rich educational programs for the station’s trainees. For instance, sightseeing tours were organized in all the cities the bicycle tourists passed through so that they could see their places of interests, including the ancient Kremlin and the Chkalov Staircase in Nizhny Novgorod.
Chkalovsk, the city named after the famous test pilot, attracted special interest of the students. The bicycle tourists visited the abandoned airstrip, the Speeds Museum and other attractions, the website of the Penza regional station of young tourists reports.
