Penza, 17 July 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region team will fight for awards of the XI All-Russian rural games the opening ceremony of which took place in Saratov last Saturday, July 16.

The regional team consists of 39 people.

Inspiring team members for competitions, minister of physical culture and sport of the region Grigory Kabelsky wished them to show worthy results.

“Penza team will compete in full, it pleases. We will support you, follow the results, and congratulate the winners,” he said.

Participants of XI All-Russian summer rural sports games finals which will be held till July 2, are the representatives of 84 regions.

The sports program includes arm sport, fight on belts, volleyball, kettlebell sports, Gorodki, track and field athletics, mass wrestling, mini-lapta, table tennis, rope pulling, poliathlon, sambo, power triathlon, mowers, machine operators and milkmen competitions, and also competitions of sports families.

First All-Russian summer rural sports games were held in 1995.

 Since 2003 winter and summer games are held once in two years.
