Penza, 14 August 2016. PenzaNews. Gymnast Aliya Mustafina, representing the Penza region, won a gold medal on the uneven bars at Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, August 14.

She received 15,900 points.
The Russian athlete took over the main rival — Madison Kocian from the US at 0,067 points. Bronze went to German Sophie Scheder with 15.566 points.
Thus, Aliya Mustafina brought the Russian team the eighth gold medal and became a two-time Olympic champion on the uneven bars.
As PenzaNews reported earlier, before that Aliya Mustafina took the Olympic silver as a part of the national team — the Russians were second in the team competition.
Earlier, the Russian men-gymnasts also won silver, which became the first in this discipline for 16 years.
It was Denis Ablyazin who made the contribution from the Penza region to the result shown by the national team. His mentor is a local coach Sergei Starkin, who also trains Aliya Mustafina since the end 2014.
