Penza, 29 January 2017. PenzaNews. Over 250 people from 16 countries took part in the 4th Winter Futsal Tournament among foreign students, which was organized at the premises of Penza State University.

Such number of amateur athletes was record-breaking in the history of the competition.

Young people from Egypt, Yemen, India, Jordan, Iraq, Cameroon, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Chad and South Africa will compete for the victory.

According to the vice-principal for international activities of Penza State University Sergei Vasin, the distinctive feature of this year competition became participation of students from India.

"India cannot be called a world football country. Instead of football, people play cricket there. And here, in Penza State University, students will be able to take part in our open futsal world championship," he noted at the competition opening ceremony.

It is planned to hold quarter-final, semi-final and final games on Monday, January 30.

The best teams will be awarded on the same day.
