Penza, 16 March 2017. PenzaNews. It was decided not to prolong a contract with a coaching staff of the Penza club "Diesel", which plays in the Premier hockey league. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Sport.

"On Thursday, March 16, the board of the 'Diesel' hockey club held a meeting, where it was decided not to prolong contracts with the head coach Sergei Lopushansky, the chief coach Andrei Aganov and the coach Valery Kukushkin," the department explained.

The press service added that work of the coaching staff was recognized as unsatisfactory due to the failure to perform assigned tasks in the 2016-2017 season.

"In the nearest future, the hockey club 'Diesel' will receive a new head coach," the press service specified.

As it was reported earlier, the Penza club "Diesel" occupied the 19th position in the regular championship of the Premier hockey league in 2016-2017 and did not reach playoff.

Altogether, the team took part in 50 matches during the season getting 21 victories and 29 losses. "Diesel" hockey players delivered 119 pucks and missed 133 ones.
