Penza, 18 April 2017. PenzaNews. On Tuesday morning, April 18, the famous Russian gymnast, five times Olympic champion Denis Ablyazin received a summon to appear in the Zheleznodorozhny area investigative department of the regional Office of Investigations under the Russian Investigative Committee.

As it was reported by the newspaper “Penzenskaya pravda”, the athlete posted a photo of the summon on Instagram making his friends and fans worried.

"[...] For the period of the investigative action you are allowed to hire a counsel for the defence or to solicit for the counsellor provision from the investigator in accordance with the procedure specified in the Art. 50 of the Russian Federation Code of Criminal Procedure," the text states.

At present, the photo of the summon and all comments to it were deleted from the profile of the winner of the Olympic Games.

The press service of the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee in the Penza region told PenzaNews that the information why the famous Russian athlete was summoned to the investigator as well as whether he managed to come on time or not is still unavailable.
