The right to compete in the prestigious competition the athlete received in the Russian Unifight Championship, which was held in the Kaluga region, where he occupied the second place in the event “Unifight – Light” in the weight class “Over 95 kg”.

First, athletes had to do a military obstacle course and then to take part in a fighting event at a ring.

At the preliminary stage of the competition, Alexei Merzlikin gained a victory over representatives of the Irkutsk, Moscow, Ryazan regions, the Krasnodar and Altai Krais, and in the finals, the man was second to an athlete from the Orenburg region, the press service of the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service reports.
