Governor, speaker of parliament, mayor and city head join bike parade in Penza
Penza, 28 May 2017. PenzaNews. The governor Ivan Belozertev, the chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Valery Lidin, the Penza mayor Victor Kuvaytsev and the city head Valery Savelyev among honorable guests took part in a bike parade that was held within the All-Russian campaign on Sunday, May 28.
According to the press service of the regional government, the event was attended by about 1,000 people altogether.
The total length of the route equaled to approximately 5 km.
Before the start of the event, the authorities congratulated the 77-year old Vladimir Khlebushkin, whose bicycle received an award in the nomination "Retro".
"It is wonderful that there are so many fans of cycling, that people came to the parade with their families," the governor Ivan Belozertsev said noting a great interest in the event.
In turn, the mayor Victor Kuvaytsev drew attention to the fact that a bicycle is not only a way of exercising but also an alternative means of transportation, which is becoming more popular in the year of ecology.
After the round, there was held a lottery in which participants of the event had a chance to receive valuable prizes.
