Penza, 16 July 2018. PenzaNews. Andrei Tersintsev from the village of Sosnovka of the Penza region has been selected for the Russian team to participate in the 43rd Chess Olympiad, which will be held in Batumi from September 23 to October 6. This was said by the chairman of the board of the regional federation for disabled athletes Povolzhye, Vladimir Novikov.

According to him, apart from the Penza athlete, the team also features another wheelchair-bound person – a representative of Yekaterinburg.

Vladimir Novikov reminded that Andrei Tersintsev is the reigning Russian chess champion among persons with a spinal cord injury and the bronze medallist of the chess world championship among the disabled.

As it was reported before, Andrei Tersintsev repeatedly showed high results at competitions of the world and national levels.

He became world champion three times – in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

In 2017 Andrei Tersintsev occupied the first place among wheelchair-bound people at the Russian chess championship among people with a spinal cord injury.
