Andrei Sidorenko to become main coach of Belarusian national hockey team

Penza, 21 July 2018. PenzaNews. Soviet athlete, former coach of the Penza club Diesel from the Major Hockey League Andrei Sidorenko will become the chief coach of the Belarusian national hockey team. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Association.

"By a decision of the members of the executive committee of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Association the post of the chief coach of the national team in our country will be entrusted to well-known specialist Andrei Sidorenko. [...] A one-year contract with a possibility of extension will be concluded with him," the press service noted.
The association specified that after the failure at the World Championship in Copenhagen the national team of Belarus will play at the world championship in group A of the first division.
"It will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana from April 29 to May 5, 2019. In addition to the hosts of the tournament, these will be the national teams from Hungary, South Korea, Lithuania and Slovenia that will become opponents of the Belarusians. Two strongest teams of the group will qualify for the top division," the Belarusian Ice Hockey Association said.
