Penza, 25 November 2018. PenzaNews. Mass preparation of ice rinks in open areas of Penza to start next week. A corresponding order was given by mayor Victor Kuvaytsev to the Department of Physical Education, Sport and Youth Policy of the city.

"Starting the middle of the next week the air temperature will go down, it is high time areas for winter activities were prepared," he said.

According to the City Hall press service, altogether there are 42 hockey grounds in Penza, 30 of which will be covered with ice in 2018.

Others will be used for outdoor games in the snow due to a low demand.

The first ground, where the works for winter season already began, is a sports ground in Zarya neighbourhood. Over a week, a coating, which is still too fragile to walk on, was prepared. Access to the skating rink will be opened with the establishment of lower temperatures.
