Penza, 17 April 2019. PenzaNews. Repeated champion of the XXIII Summer Deaflympic Games in Samsun, Penza swimmer Olga Klyuchnikova won a gold medal at a distance of 200 metres backstroke at a Russian swimming championship among the deaf, which is held simultaneously with a competition at the palace of water sports Sura.

The team of the Penza region is represented by pupils of the sports and adaptive school of the region.

In total, about 300 swimmers from 33 regions of the country participate in the competitions. Athletes over the age of 12 compete at the championship, and athletes aged from 10 to 18 participate in the competition.

The competitions are qualifying for the world swimming championship (deaf sport), which will be held on August 25-31 in the Brazilian city of São Paulo, the website of the sports school of the Olympic reserve of water sports informs.
