Penza swimmer wins silver at world championship

Budapest, 21 August 2019. PenzaNews. Member of the national team Egor Pavlov, an athlete of the Penza Olympic Reserve Sports School for water sports, won a silver medal at the 4×100 metre freestyle relay event at the World Swimming Championship, which started in Budapest, Hungary, on Tuesday, August 20.

According to the website of the Penza Region Sports Training Centre, Egor Pavlov participated in the qualifying and final races.

At the final heat, the Russian athletes took the lead in a sharp fight with the Italian team, beating the rivals by 0.03 seconds. The Russian team set the junior European record.

Gold was won by the U.S. team. American swimmers set the junior world record.
