140 thousand hectares of winter crops sown in Penza
Penza, 5 September 2016. PenzaNews. Currently, 140 thousand hectares are sown with winter crops in the Penza region. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the region Andrey Burlakov at an operational meeting in the regional government on Monday, September 5.

“We plan to complete sowing by September 25, and sow 401 thousand hectares of winter crops,” he added.
According to Andrey Burlakov, this year additional 62 thousand hectares were put in the crop rotation.
“We expect to be able to increase the cultivation area by no less than 50 thousand hectares in 2017. Area under winter crops is increased by 30 thousand hectares. Approximately 20-30 thousand hectares of additional land should be provided for spring crops,” the minister explained.
