Penza, 29 February 2016. PenzaNews. A woman living in the Kolyshley area of the Penza region, 54, lost 30,000 rubles to a scammer in an attempt to save her relative from alleged criminal liability.

“An unknown person who introduced himself as a Federal Drug Control Service officer called he mobile phone and told her that her relative allegedly had been arrested for crime. Afterwards, he offered her to resolve the issue by sending money to a banking card account,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior informed PenzaNews.

An investigation is already underway, the police added.

“We established that the phone number used by the unidentified person is registered in a different city,” they pointed out.
