“The Ministry of the Interior financial crime and corruption prevention department established that several flats were purchased in Chaadaevka village in the Gorodische area in 2011 as part of the resettlement program, which was curated by the then head of the Housing Fund Modernization office for the regional Communal Affairs and Civil Security Department,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.
According to available information, the woman in question received a flat worth 600,000 rubles in the village from the Chaadaevka administration head as illegal reward between 2011 and 2012, they added.
“This flat was one of the locations designed for use by people in the dilapidated housing resettlement program,” the police noted.
As a result, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 5, Art. 290 of the Criminal Code “Taking a Bribe,” and the woman in question now faces up to 12 years in prison with a fine 60 times over the bribe’s amount, they explained.
