Penza, 12 November 2016. PenzaNews. 65-year-old Penza resident lost 55,000 rubles having been cheated by a telephone swindler.

“An unknown man called her and introduced himself as a police officer. He said that the woman’s son had got into an accident and in order to relieve him of criminal responsibility she had to transfer 95,000 rubles to two mobile accounts which he  named. Following the instructions, the retired woman transferred a large sum of money to the given account details,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews.

The office explained that the investigation upon fraud started.

“Police officers are taking measures to define the people involved in the crime,” the press service said.
