Penza, 1 March 2012. PenzaNews. All-Russia symphonic music festival of will be held in Penza regional philharmonic hall from March 12 till April 17. The director of culture establishment Alexey Lvov-Belov informed about it during the meeting with journalists in the press center of news agency PenzaNews on Thursday, March 1.

He specified that the purpose of the festival which will be organized fifth time is preservation and development of traditions of symphonic art, popularization of classical music and also further development of cultural cooperation between regions and .

“Leading Russian and foreign performers will take part in festival, such as the state string quartet named after Glinka, the winner of the international competitions Yury Medyanik, Moscow conductor Eduard Dyadyura and Italian Fermo Rosheno,” said the director of a philharmonic society.

He specified that the “Second symphony” and the overture “Koriolan” of Beethoven performed by Governor’s symphonic orchestra under honored workers of arts of Russia Vladimir Kashirsky and Victor Kurzhavsky will open the festival.
According to Vladimir Kashirsky, it is symbolical that the festival will be held in Penza during the Lent as music promotes clarification of soul from all nasty that is in the person.

“On blessing of the bishop Penza and Kuznetsk Veniamin before Holy Week we will sing “St Matthew Passion” of metropolitan Illarion. We refer to God only by means of singing, by orthodox traditions, but also by means of instrumental music as it is in Catholicism,” the conductor explained.
