According to Darya Naumushkina, the press secretary of Penza branch of the SRO NPO Interregional Union of Builders, the musical instrument is created by specialists of Hugo Mayer Orgelbau GmbH company which has worked in the field of organ creation for three family generations.
“The development of drawings and manual assembly took more than a year. Penza organ will be 9 meters height, 10 meters long and 3 meters deep. It includes 45 main registers, 2 additional registers and 3 manuals. There will be 3 thousand 200 pipes in diameter from 30 cm to several millimeters. Each of these pipes was hand-made of tin and lead alloy or of wood,” the spokesperson explained.
According to one of delegates Alexander Breusov, today organ is 60% completed.
“All the pipes are already made and installed in voicing machine which is like a wooden box for the compressed air and it is the most important part of assembling process. It is the first organ for Penza out of 416 organs made by Hugo Mayer Orgelbau GmbH. It will be assembled, tested and sent to Russia this summer but it will sound only next year during 350th anniversary of the city,” Alexander Breusov said.
