“Several New Year events out of 50 were dedicated to charity. Moreover, it is the first time in many years when the theater has been hosting masquerade balls for three evenings in a row,” Vitaly Sokolov, Drama Theater manager of literary and play content, told PenzaNews agency.
According to him, people who deserve the most praise are actors who took part in three plays a day almost every day, as well as the stage director, the choreographer, artists and other backstage workers who helped organize the event.
“We resume our daily evening plays on both of our stages on Tuesday, January 13, right before the Old Style New Year informal celebrations. The first regular play of 2015 will be ‘A Man for a Celebration’ by playwright Nadezhda Ptushkina: it will be the 99th performance of the play. By the end of January, Andrei Shildin, a stage director well known by the Penza public, plans to begin the rehearsals of a new play ‘Tristan and Isolde’ with the script by a St. Petersburg playwright Igor Gagarinov,” said the agency interlocutor.
