Penza to hold culture and book-reading festival “Glory to Books!”

Penza, 1 April 2015. PenzaNews. A culture and book-reading festival “Glory to Books!” will be held in Penza on Thursday, April 2.

The event in the Center of Russian Choir and Vocal Culture is scheduled to coincide with International Children’s Book Day.

The audience will see the best performances of artistic groups of the city, including the vocal ensemble “Veseliye Notki,” the dancing group “Neposedy,” and the theater studio “Nastroeniye.”

Among the high-ranking visitors of the event who will congratulate the audience with the notable day will be Victor Gvozdev, first deputy chairman of the Penza city administration, member of the Russian Writers’ Union, and Vladimir Yurakov, a renown author of children’s songs, also member of the Russian Writers’ Union.

The young readers will have a chance to visit the book expo featuring the best recently published children’s books donated to the Penza libraries by deputies of the Penza City Duma, charitable persons, and civil activists.

The event will begin at 12.00 am, and the entry will be free of charge, says the press service of the city Department of Culture.
