Penza, 17 May 2016. PenzaNews. The International Youth Glass Art Festival has opened in Nikolsk of the Penza region.

It brought together professional glass artists who came to know international popularity through numerous symposiums and students of relevant professions coming from the Penza region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Belarus.

On May 17-24, they will be creating glass and crystal glass sculptures using the facilities of the Nikolsk glassworks cluster.

The festival will conclude with an exhibition of the recently created works.

The official closing ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 26, the Penza region Center of Cluster Development told PenzaNews.

The Penza region glassworks cluster was founded in 2012. It is a group of enterprises involved in production and processing of glass, production of glasswork equipment, related services, research and education, all concentrated in Nikolsk town and the Nikolsk area.

The cluster seeks to further the development of effective and competitive production of artistic and light glass through synergy stemming from their cooperation, as well as create the incentives to modernize production and management.
