Andrei Burlakov told Agriculture Ministry about plant growth industry results
Moscow, 25 December 2014. PenzaNews. The minister of agriculture in the Penza region Andrei Burlakov made a report during the meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia on Wednesday, December 24. Many heads of regional agricultural institutions attended the report.
The event was dedicated to plant growth campaign audit, successes and failures of vital 2014 regional campaigns, and preparation to spring field plowing season.
“The Penza region is successfully implementing the project that aims to create logistics centers for potato, vegetable, fruit and other production facilities during 2014-2016. LLC ‘Bashmakovsky bread’ opened the first 15-ton logistics center section in 2014 in Shiryaevo village of the Belinsky area. We plan to increase potato plantations to 2,775 ha, open-harvest vegetables to 1,000 ha and their overall production volume to 110 thousand and 40 thousand tons respectively to 2017,” said the regional agriculture minister.
According to him, JSC “Razdolye” has opened a 2,600-ton logistics center in Bogoslovka village of the Penza region. They also plan to expand their farms to 180 ha for potatoes and 50 ha for open-farming vegetables, with 7.2 and 3.3 thousand tons respectively to 2017.
“The project provides for new potato and vegetable storages that are able to keep up to 10.4 thousand tons of food each yearly. JSC ‘Penaovoschprom’ has upgraded the 4 thousand ton vegetable storage in the Lopatino area,” Andrei Burlakov noted.
As per his words, plantation areas for legumes and beans will reach 685.5 thousand ha, which is 22% above the 2014 levels, while the region will have reserved 40.6 thousand ha for seed corn (+3%), 159.1 thousand ha for sunflower, 42.3 thousand ha for sugar beet, and 53.3 thousand ha for oil seed (+35%).
According to the press service of the Penza region government, agricultural workers of Penza have planted over 401.4 thousand ha of winter crops for the 2015 harvest.
