“Out of those who will be laid off in April, 104 can almost be accounted for regular staff rotation procedures. Mostly they get rid of engineering and technical staff, and senior employees,” said the minister during a weekly meeting session of the regional government on Tuesday, February 24.
The officials are working on finding new employment locations for laid-off workers, Mikhail Torgashin added.
“Apart from that, we are currently working on production orders issue. If the volumes of production we negotiated on a week ago are true, we will even require hiring more staff, because growth will surely to increase by 10-15% compared to the 2014 levels,” he noted.
There is a potential to work in cooperation with the United Shipbuilding Corporation to create ship engines, and the issue is being reviewed, the minister explained.
Speaking on the overall situation with industry enterprises of the Penza region, Mikhail Torgashin said 19 of them were placed under constant supervision. These companies were included in the list of backbone companies of regional importance that play a big role in the employment market.
“11 industrial enterprises shifted to part-time employment to preserve their staff,” he said.
