150,000 tons granulated sugar produced in Penza region

Penza, 4 November 2015. PenzaNews. A total of 150,000 tons of granulated sugar was produced in the Penza region, according to information available on Tuesday, November 3.

“The regional sugar producers have over 1 billion tons of sugar beet in storage. The Penza region holds the second place in bulk yield in the Penza region, second only to Tatarstan,” the press service of the regional Agriculture Ministry informed PenzaNews agency.

The prices for granulated sugar in the Penza region remains the lowest in the Volga Federal District at 46.98 rubles per kilogram, they added.

“The highest price is in the Perm Krai – 55.03 rubles,” the ministry noted.
