Penza, 1 December 2015. PenzaNews. Enterprises of the Penza region engineering and production cluster “Biomed” took part in the 21st countrywide forum of cardiovascular surgeons that took place at Moscow’s Bakulev Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery.

During the research part of the event, Sergei Evdokimov, cluster’s board chairman and head manager of “MedInzh,” together with Vladlen Bazylev, chief medical officer of the Penza-based federal cardiovascular surgery center, exchanged outlooks and experience with colleagues during numerous panel discussions on modern cardiovascular surgery problems and development of import replacement production of medical prosthetics.

As part of the exposition, the enterprises of “Biomed” displayed their cutting-edge medical components and R&D results in cardiovascular and X-ray endovascular surgery within a unified display zone.

During the plenary meeting, Leo Bokeriya, Russia’s chief cardiosurgeon, presented Vladlen Bazylev the Burakovsky award.

This served as a reward for achievements of Penza surgeons in doubling the numbers of surgical operations requiring artificial blood circulation over the past three years, and making over 3,000 operations in 2014.

The Penza enterprises took part in the forum thanks to the support from the Center for Cluster Development.
