Penza, 17 January 2012. PenzaNews. Serdobsk City Court of the Penza region delivered a guilty verdict against a woman who had stolen 60 thousand rubles from her ex-husband.

“The defendant knew that her ex-husband kept his savings in a closet. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was watching her, she took the money and escaped from the crime scene,” the press service of the Court told news agency PenzaNews.

The press service added that when considering the verdict the Court took account of several mitigating factors, namely, that the woman had no previous criminal record and reported her own crime and that the victim asked the Court not to punish his ex-wife harshly.

“The Court sentenced the woman to 220 hours of compulsory service during the time free from her main work at places to be determined by the self-government authority in consultation with the criminal enforcement inspection,” said the press service. The sentence came into effect.
