Penza, 1 March 2012. PenzaNews. Zheleznodorozhny district court of Penza delivered guilty verdict to the driver of “MAZ-6303А5” for infringement of traffic regulations which led to pedestrian’s death. According to materials of the court, the driver of the truck, moving on federal line М5 “Ural” towards Penza, around the settlement Montazhny, seeing that the car following ahead stopped to pass pedestrians moved and collide with “BMW”.

“As the result of collision the foreign car became uncontrollable moved to oncoming traffic lane and ran into seven pedestrians crossing the road. Then “BMW” drove to car “VAZ-21063” facing a pedestrian crossing which in turn faced “KamAZ,” the regional court press-service informed.

75-year-old woman died in the hospital because of received traumas, two more pedestrians got heavy physical injuries.

“In judicial session the driver recognized the fault completely and partially compensated material damage and moral harm to victims. Victims asked not to deprive the man of freedom,” said the press-service.

Considering all circumstances, the driver of the truck got punishment in the form of 3 years imprisonment conditionally with 3 years trial period and was deprived the driver’s license.

In compensation of moral harm the offender of large road accident near Penza has to pay 370 thousand roubles in favor of the injured.

The district court sentence hasn't entered validity yet.
