Resident of Kuznetsk, accused of organizing casino, refused to testify

Kuznetsk, 6 September 2012. PenzaNews. Businesswoman from Kuznetsk, the Penza region, accused of illegal organization and conduct of gambling, and illegal use of the objects of copyright, refused to admits her guilt.

According to the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina, the defendant refused to testify in accord with Art. 51, Constitution of the Russian Federation “No one is required to testify against himself…”

“During the investigation it was detected that within the period from June 2011 to February 18, 2012 the defendant, knowing that her activity of organizing and conducting gambling in the Penza region was prohibited, still rented several cafes in Kuznetsk, where she set 146 slot machines. With conspiracy purpose she equipped the places with video surveillance system and alarm,” Lyudmila Fomina explained.

She noted that, according to the investigators, illegal activity brought the accused over eight million rubles.
