Narcologist from Kuznetsk disbarred from medical practice for bribery

Kuznetsk, 22 January 2014. PenzaNews. Psychiatrist-narcologist from Kuznetsk central district hospital of the Penza region arrested in June 2013 with a bribe has been deprived of the right to engage in medical practice in the state and municipal health institutions for a period of 6 months.
“The investigation found that the doctor while being on duty in the emergency department of drug treatment received five thousand rubles from a woman who brought her friend for hospitalization and required not to make any records in the official reports of the medical institution. At the time she was an undercover officer on duty,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency “PenzaNews.”
She explained that medical care in the emergency department of drug treatment is free, and admission is carried out only through the registration department where a medical report is filed, which the doctor was well aware of.
“The court sentenced the narcologist to a fine of 125 thousand rubles,” the agency interlocutor added.
