Penza, 19 December 2014. PenzaNews. Around 800 female sex workers have been arrested and put on watch in the Penza region, the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs branch told PenzaNews agency.

“Currently we are in the process of Operation Callgirl that aims to uncover prostitution workers, as well as prevent and solve prostitution-related crimes. As of now, police workers have checked 42 prostitution parlors: most of them were located in Oktyabrsky and Pervomaisky neighborhoods of Penza city and Kuznetsk city and area, while some prostitution spots were in the Mokshan, Kamenka and Nizhny Lomov areas,” they clarified.

The press service said 17 persons were apprehended for prostitution.

“Four prostitution crimes were uncovered this year. We have opened criminal cases that will be reviewed after investigation,” the police department summed up during the interview.
