Penza, 29 December 2014. PenzaNews. A 27-year old resident of Penza city has been sentenced to 13 years in maximum security penal colony for raping and killing his 95-year old great-grandmother who tried to reproach him for drinking too much liquor.

“According to investigators, the offender arrived to Grabovo village to his father in March 15, 2014, and decided to visit his great-grandmother. They had a row, and the man savagely beat up the 95-year old woman, including using a wooden rolling pin. Afterwards, the man raped and abused the old woman. Trying to hide the aftermath of the crime, he tried to cut her body apart with a kitchen knife and burn it,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.

She added that the offender confessed to the crime.

“The psychology expertise found the man sane,” stressed the agency interlocutor.

The court order is currently in the process of being entered into force.
