More accurately, the fire occurred at 4.25, the press service of the Penza region EMERCOM department informed PenzaNews.
“The volunteers were the first to arrive at the scene, and began extinguishing the fire as firefighters arrived. Together, they extinguished the flames,” they explained.
According to the press service, the EMERCOM department dispatched seven rescuers and two rescue vehicles.
“Small groups of volunteers often end up far closer to the fire site than professional firefighter crews, which allows them to corral and extinguish the flames before the regular fire dispatch arrives. Their aid to our firefighters in such cases is invaluable, and greatly appreciated,” they added.
