Number of quotas for oncology patients’ treatment increased in Penza region

Penza, 18 January 2017. PenzaNews. The number of quotas for oncology patients’ treatment was increased in the Penza region in 2017, as compared with the previous year. This was reported by the chief doctor of the Penza regional oncology dispensary Vitaly Serebryakov.

"In 2016 we provided high-technology medical care to 1,589 patients. In 2017, the number of quotas for high-technology was increased to 1,862," he said.

As it was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region, the dispensary is the biggest centre in the region that provides specialized high-technology medical care to oncology patients.

It is expected that substantial help in patients’ treatment will be provided by the high-energy linear accelerator launched into operation in March 2016.
