Two meetings and picket organized by different political forces, national staff in support of Vladimir Putin, a coalition of opposition and regional branch of LDPR will take place in Penza on Saturday, February, 4. According to Boris Shigin, the head of the regional national staff in support of Vladimir Putin, a mass meeting which had been planned to take place on Fontannaya Square will take place in a sport center “Burtasy”.

“The day before main doctor of the Penza region Alexander Dmitriev declared that it’s dangerous to hold mass meetings in the open air for people’s health because of abnormal cold weather in the region. That’s why the venue of the meeting was changed,” he said.

“It is planned that Vladimir Putin’s supporters will start to gather at about noon. Officially the meeting will start at 1 o'clock. I think, the meeting will be interesting and festive because this day the 73th anniversary of the Penza region is celebrated,” Boris Shigin said, having added that the motto of the meeting is “For Worthy Life and Stable Development.”

According to the press-service of the Penza regional committee of Communist Parties, two-hour meeting “For fair elections” organized by representatives of Communist Party of the Russian Federation, “Yabloko”, “Just cause”, a staff of presidential contender of the Russian Federation Michael Prokhorov and association “Civil Control” will begin near Regional Drama Theater at 11 o’clock.

“During the meeting citizens will be registered in the list of observers on March 4 presidential elections. Now there is a preparation of the list acting and the draft resolution,” the press-service said.

At the same time, at 11.00 o’clock active workers of LDPR plan to hold picket “For Fair and Pure Democratic Elections” near regional Honor and Glory Board in Kirova street in Penza.

“Because of abnormal cold weather we decided to hold not a meeting but a picket. Active workers of LDPR who will declare upholding of the rights of political parties in struggle for maintenance and law observance during elections will take part in it,” the regional coordinator of the Penza branch of LDPR Anastasiya Koptelova informed.

All three meetings planned on Saturday, February 4th have permissions of the authorities.
