The event featured discussions on pressing issues of the Party workings, as well as countrywide and worldwide social and economic situation.

In particular, Gennady Zyuganov, leader of the Communist Party, made a report titled “On political situation in Russia and current tasks for the Party.”

The Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee mentioned the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as one of the most notable events in early 2015.

“Even though modern Europe all but spits Russia in the face, the business circles are frequently siding against the sanctions imposed on our country,” he stressed.

In his turn, first vice-speaker of the State Duma, the first deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Ivan Melnikov remarked the return of Crimea to Russia as one of the major events and achievements of 2014.

According to the politician, “this is the first case of political revenge to the wrong-doers of the Belavezha Agreement fame.”

Ivan Melnikov reminded the audience the Communist Party supports Vladimir Putin’s stance against those who are trying to rewrite the history books, and added the Ukrainian crisis saw the rise of the so called “fifth column” activists that are trying to spread lies and deceit about Russia and its history by all means possible.

Among the speakers on the conference, apart from Gennady Zyuganov and Ivan Melnikov, were other committee leaders and representatives from the cities, such as Vadim Potomsky, governor of the Orel region and member of the CPRF; Anatoly Lokot, first chairman of the Novosibirsk committee and mayor of Novosibirsk; Pavel Grudinin, director of LLC “Sovhoz im. V.I. Lenina”; and others.

During the event, the leaders of the regional Communist Party departments exchanged experience and outlined their plans for 2015.
