“Today, I was sitting, looking through the list of the City [Duma] and the regional [Legislative Assembly], and thinking: ‘Whom should I recommend for my place?’” said the head of the region during a journalist meeting held in the Penza region government late on Thursday, March 19.
As Vasily Bochkarev explained, he drew up a list of four candidates, but his acquaintance discarded each of them during a private discussion of potential successors to the Penza region governor’s seat.
“My term ends on May 26, and I should recommend somebody. I am already old,” noted the head of the region.
Following that, Vasily Bochkarev added that “nobody listens to him anymore.”
“Maybe a new person comes, says something, and everybody will start working all at once,” he suggested.
