Ivan Belozertsev’s office as Penza region Legislative Assembly chairman terminated
Penza, 10 June 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region Legislative Assembly has removed Ivan Belozertsev from his position as the chairman and the deputy of the Assembly’s fifth convocation during its regular 27th session held on Wednesday, June 10.

The issue was included in the day’s agenda due to the fact that Ivan Belozertsev had been appointed the acting governor of the Penza region on May 25, 2015, and following the now former deputy’s personal request.
All 29 deputies present at the session unanimously voted in favor of the decision. Following that, the acting chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Valery Lidin congratulated Ivan Belozertsev for fruitful cooperation.
In his turn, Ivan Belozertsev said the event hit him close to home.
“After all, I have been representing out citizens for many years as a deputy of the City Duma and later in the Legislative Assembly. I thank you all for entrusting me the leadership in the Legislative Assembly,” he said.
Ivan Belozertsev also added that he tried to followed the good example set by his predecessor Alexander Gulyakov and other former chairmen in his activities.
“We actively developed the regional legislation, and did much in this respect,” the acting governor said.
Ivan Belozertsev also expressed hope that he will continue to work with the Legislative Assembly, while Valery Lidin assured him that the regional Parliament will remain a firm foundation for the region’s highest official.
